Everything about C++

What is C++?

C++ is an older programming language which is still popular today. C++ is similar to C which was created in the early 1970s by Dennis Ritchie and implemented in the UNIX operating system.

C++ adds some extra features to C as well as object-oriented programming capability. While some programming languages are developed for specific purposes, C++ can be used for many different purposes. That is why it is often called the Swiss Pocket Knife of Languages”.

C languages also give programmers greater control over lower-level processes. This is why C is often a good choice for programs that are resource-intensive and/or want to make the most of a computer’s performance.

C++ game development

Is C++ good for game development? Short answer: yes. While it is known to be a language with a steep learning curve, there is a reward. Compared to a lot of other programming languages, it gives developers more direct control over the hardware and graphical processes. These features make it well-suited to game design. It’s also why programs like Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Premiere Pro are written in C++.

The history of C++ also explains why it is popular for gaming applications. At one point in time, C++ was one of the only realistic programming language choices for high-performance applications. As a result, when game engines and libraries were developed, they were developed in C++.
Today, there are still many well-known games such as Counter Strike and World of Warcraft that are written in C++.

C++ app development

C++ mobile development is possible on the major platforms such as Android and iPhone. Once you’ve decided on which platform you will use, you will usually download an integrated development environment which contains the basic tools you need to create applications.
For specific instructions and quirks related to each platform.

Influence of C++

According to Wikipedia, C++ has influenced many other programming languages, some of which include C#, Java and even newer versions of C. If C++ was never created, who knows what these programming languages would look like today.

C++ was First Standardized in 1998

The working group known as JTC1/SC22/WG21 first standardized C++ in 1998. Since then, it has been standardized three other times, with the most recent being in December 2017 (C++17). But that’s not the end of the line for the programming language.

How to use C++
